Dr. Tobias Wittmann
Managing Director

As founder, shareholder and Managing Director, Tobias is responsible for all strategic and operational issues, particularly technology development.

Previously, Tobias was project manager for the wind energy operator Theolia and worked at Volkswagen in the R&D department.

Tobias holds a doctoral degree in process engineering from the Technical University in Berlin and an energy management degree from the University of Magdeburg, Germany.

Friedrich von Ploetz, MBA
Managing Director

As founder, shareholder and Managing Director, Friedrich is responsible for all strategic business issues. Besides his role at SunCoal, Friedrich is also responsible for the business unit Koehler Innovative Solutions from SunCoal’s parent group, the Koehler Paper Group.

Previously, Friedrich was a project manager at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

Friedrich holds a business degree from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management, Germany and his MBA, with distinction, from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Dominik Siemon, M.Sc.
Director Marketing
and Administration,
Authorized Representative

As Authorized Representative and Director of Marketing and Administration, Dominik is responsible for all operational business issues and is the contact person for this area as well.

Previously, Dominik was executive assistant at the Institute for Ecological Economy Research in Berlin and worked in the renewable energy sector.

Dominik holds a Master’s degree in resource management from the Humboldt University of Berlin and attends a MBA program at the University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics in Berlin.

Jacob Podschun
Director R&D

As Director of R&D, Jacob is contact person responsible for all research and development activities.

Previously, Jacob was a research associate at the University of Hamburg where he specialized in the chemical modifications of lignin.

Jacob holds a doctoral degree in chemical wood technology from the University of Hamburg and a Master’s degree in advanced materials from the University of Ulm.
